Still have not called Toshiba, bu will do so tomorrow. THat means my computer does not even see the CD-rom drive, and therefore I can not read nor write any cd or dvd… ANd the device manager tells me there s a problem with that driver but it is unable to update it and I have found little information … I have posted on the toshiba forum, I advise you all to do the same, may be toshiba ll do something if only to avoid having all computers brought back for repair. What media are you using? Anyway to fix this? A lot of talk but not one answer to that question.

When I insert a disc it will spin and the read light on the ROM itself lights as though it is reading it. Matshita is an abbreviation for Matsushita.

What media are you using? Unknowingly I have changed the region code of this drive to the maximum limited number of times and thus I am now not able to run any DVD for my region.
I have a Toshiba Matshita ujs G I have to say that it sucked ujs5 lot. This is also likely the reason why the drive seems to support more than is officially recognized and why some vendors may support different options As for uje locking, this is a scheme created by matshiha motion picture industry, not the matshita ujs maker.

We really cant tell. The parts are difficult to obtain, are generally more expensive, and people are matshiita about opening up an expensive piece of equipment.

It clicked it back in and from then on the speed of this thing is very poor. Any suggestions will be very much appreciated. Can this burner not read the graphics on a Cd-g?
The only solution I found was to remove the drive and its cover and take a blower to it. Yes Buffer Underrun Protection: I presume firmware from B has software block for flashing on other oem drives and it would need hacking. I think this is not possible because there is no flasher for this.

Added on September 18th, at 5: I have the matshita dvd ram UJS and I popped in a game disc today and nothing happens,I went into device manager and its showing this message now, Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware.
The windows has been changed from Media Center to XP, would that cause an issue?
